I have been hunting for over 10 years and this year is the first year that I have decided to try a flintlock for the muzzleloader season. Unfortunately I will not be able to get out until mid week after work with no time to get the stand up. I was also thinking about walking along a creek bed with heavy growth where there is heavy sign of deer. Would it be better to find a high spot and just ground hunt? Any input for the best results during early muzzleloader would be appreciated. FYI I will be hunting in 5C

I put a stand near a stream..checked it out yesterday..stream running hard and loud. Impossible to hear anything coming, something you might want to consider. Not good for stand hunting, but great for stalking, cuz they won't hear you either.
