With all of Maggie's success in big trials, it has been three years since we were running young hounds at the derby trials.
Well this year, we are working some young ones and today, we traveled up Klipnockie Beagle Club near Oneonta NY to our first derby of 2010.

We were pleasantly surprised with our young dogs' and they really did well.

Molly (Maggie's younger sister) took first place in the 13" class and our Luke took a solid 3rd place in the 15" class.

3 more of Molly's littermates also placed . Honey Hollow's Gretchen 2nd 15" class, Peters Lacakawnna 2nd base Chase 4th 15" class, and Snotop's Lackawanna Yaznoka 4Th 13" class.

Really good day for our young ones.

Here are a few pics back at the house

Lots of fun and a nice day out.

The cross has been really good to us John.

Good solid gun dogs and
plenty of trial wins in different formats

Maggie has 8 wins
4 AKC licensed, 4 Derby, NY state championship, points titles in the PBGA, NEBGF and IBGA
She also needs just a win to finish in UKC.
Her pups are due Friday so she might not get it this year.

Lulu has 7
5 AKC, 1 Derby, 1 UKC, including 2 NYS Championships (1 derby 1 all age)

And the first two derby's in NY have been won by Molly and Grechen (Grech won at Blue Ridge 2 weeks ago). These are Pups from the second litter of the same cross.

The other dogs are all out of FC Preacher Brook Charlie

Been a long night here
Maggie's pups came 4 days early.
8 so far and she appears to be done.

They all look good and are all nursing but they are a bit small.
Keeping our fingers crossed.
