The grandson and I had a very good day. It was most likely the best day in five years for me. We caught fish ranging between 6" and 17" a lot of fish in the 13"-14" range. You know it's a good day when you quit counting. If I had to guess I would say I caught around 25 and he about a dozen. I did let him reel a few of mine in so I'm not who gets credit for them... most likely him.

We fished from Dresslers Campsite area down to the Montgomrys Ferry landing. We got a late start, about 9am and fished until about 3pm.

The fish were everywhere we fished, in the rapids and the quick drifting water, we had planned on taking photos of every fish but soon decided to just have fun. We also quit measuring and started guessing so of course the fish sizes got bigger as the day went on.

I had been ready to quit about 12:00 but I just couldn't get him to quit and how can a good Pappy say no. It took me a whole day to recover because of my knee replacement troubles but I'd do it all again in a minute!

I'll put these up as links because I haven't had time to resize them.
EDIT: all fish were caught on a Rebel Crawlfish (Rainbow)

looks like fun and looking at his proud face I couldn't have left either. I can't wait till my granddaughter is old enough to go along with me.

It was fun,I just have one complaint about boating/fishing etiquette. If I'm pulling into an area to fish where I see others, I look at each boat to see if they are anchored or drifting and if they are running trolling motors. I had a guy come in and set up/anchor right below us. I don't run a trolling motor because I run an airboat and I think it better to start the motor and move rather than using a motor with a prop in the water as far as stealth mode for fish that may be in the area. Not wanting to start the motor around the boat that sat up in front of me I had to use my push pole to get around him. I'm not talking about someone setting up or anchoring 100 yards down stream but only about 75 ft away.

Great Report! Thanks for sharing your day with us. I get caught up with catching fish and forget about what fishing is all about. I think your report pretty much sums it up.

My son and I fished pretty much the same area
sat. and sunday.
Did well also, biggest smallie was a fat 17 incher.
The wind on sunday was brutal though.

Joe we caught a few nice ones right out from you, There's usually someone in there so I rarely stop. We started floating about the last campsite down. The boy missed a big one in there, after him missing two I looked and one of his hooks was bent.

Great to see the little guy with some decent fish. Were you using that crayfish crank bait most of the time? Like my dad said (susqyjoe) we fished the same area but we were getting most of our fish on tubes. We always seem to do well in that stretch of water.
