I've been changing things up from year to year now. Normally it's my model 6 243. Last year it was my mossberg 12 gauge slug gun.

This year I'm going to take the 760 in 270. I'll take the GP100 as well.

M700ADL in 25-06 that I bought used in 1978, shooting 100gr Btips.

Same piece o' junk Bushnell 4x12 that I put on it almost 30 years ago. Somehow, it'll still shoot MOA after all this time?

Designated "doe gun" this year, is a Rossi M92 clone in 44 mag, with 24" oct. barrel and shooting the same 200gr XTP loads that I've used in my M629. Know how well they've worked on deer from the pistol, we'll maybe see how they do from the longer barrel?

Best wishes to all for a dandy deer season.

Either my Marlin XL7 in /06 or my gf's Savage .270. Most likely the .270 since no rain and then switch to the /06 in rain or snow.

I won't be able to get out the first few days, but the rest of the season I will be carrying my new model 700 mountain rifle in 280. I can't wait to use it and see how it performs.

It's that time again...

I plan on taking a Number One in .303 British with a 1.75-6x36 Leupold on top....
A 260 topped with a 2.5x10 4200.

Now all I need then is the dumbest deer on the mountain to find me!

Weapon: Browning Micro Medallion
Caliber: 257 Roberts
Sighting: Weaver Classic V 3-9x38
Ammo: 117gr Hornady Interlock RN handloads
Fun Facts: 1" high @ 100 yards; DEAD NUTS @ 150 yards; 2-2.5 lbs crisp, clean trigger; Sub MOA accuracy(1/2" groups @ 100 yards).

This little rifle I bought when I was 17. Thirteen years later and it's still my number one. Shoots better than ever and puts 'em down hard when I do my part! I'm excited!

.308 only because I have never taken it hunting yet. Once I drop either a buck or a doe this coming Saturday I will switch to another caliber to change things up.
