I made my annual trip to the Finger Lakes over the weekend. Usually I go up a month later, but due to a schedule change, I had to head up earlier.
For anyone who is going up to check out the falls, the ones I saw were running on empty.
Hector was only three small streams. Eagle's Cliff was only about 4' wide.
We camped at Havana Glen. My kids liked swimming under Eagle's Cliff, but it was about 25% of what it usually is.
I decided to skip going back to Cascadillia, Lucifer and some of my other favorites.
The guy I spoke with said they had no snow and very dry spring and summer so far. It is a shame for people going to that area to see the falls. I have a friend going up next week who has seen my photos of about 60 of the falls in that area. I told him to be prepared to be very disappointed.
