you get what you pay for....i have never had the money to get outerwear....

the trapper pullover is all i have ever worn and it's ten times better then anything i have ever tried. the double mackinaw is a good filson garment though.

like i have said, i love filson but if i had more money i would never own anything filson ever again knowing their is a company like king of the mountain out there...most can't afford it or have more important priorities but it is just one of those things that you don't know absolute unequaled true quality until you put it on. i don't even have one of their more expensive garments and it's still the best thing i have ever warn for long term warmth and comfort. imagine what it's like to sit in a wind that's about -20 degrees and be just a little too warm.

I have some filson garments including the cruiser and they are good quality, don't forsee that I'm going to ever be able to wear them out. There are differences in wool quality and weight, most good wool costs good money. You've heard it before you get what you pay for, but you can keep it reasonable. I chose filson, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy from some of the others mentioned either. Just to confuse you more, look at some of the stuff from LL Bean. Not sure where its made but also seems to be good quality and they'll stand behind it like the others also.
love ll bean...my archery suits are all ll bean with gortex
