So I am torn between gamelands I want to pick . I am right in the middle of two.

One has more open fields the other more woods.

Which would you choose?

I have not had time to go and scout as I don’t live in pa. So I am winging it and hoping for the best !

Of course it depends on the situation, but.....

If I was "winging it" , (especially on SGL), here is what I would do.

I would assume that someone has done their homework and that one gobbler that you hear on the roost has someone who is going to set up on it.

I would know the area, or at least have a map of the area.

When that one gobbler is heard, I would look to the area I think he will head to strut. I would go and set up, in the woods somewhere along that travel path, and at least far enough away so that the "roost hunter" would not be impacted.

Sit patiently, call sparingly. Kill a bird at 8:30.

Good luck.
