European mount sealer?

After the skull is bleached what do you use to seal it with. I have been told to mix some elmers glue and water and paint it, let dry,then use a coat of polyurathane.
Any other suggestions?

I used Krylon Satin finish clear sealer.

Comes in Flat, Satin or High Gloss Finish.
