i got a 3 year old European Foxhound mix from the pound in january...never really contemplated taking him out since i figured being mutt, being older and being a former death row pound prisoner would eliminate him but after being asked literally everytime he's out with me if i take him hunting i might as well ask...

is it too late at almost 4 years old?
does the fact he's a mix (with i dont no what) ruin it?

if not what is the first step in gettin him into a position where he could put in some miles with me?

just kinda wondering...imagine this comes up alot around here...

For fox and coyote?? It's not too late...you may wear out a pair of boots making him a hunter....being a mix may help or hurt, never know until you try. try him doing drags, wait for snow and walk out tracks until he'll go or go out of state to a training pen.

was thinking for grouse and pheasants although from what ive been reading the breed can take on some more formidable opponents then the friendly grouse or pheasant
