For me, taking the end of the line pic is the end of the season. Granted, I still need to sell the fur, etc…. But it’s a milestone and something that’s bitter sweet. I never want the season to end, but when it’s over, it’s nice to be able to spend more time with my wife and kids instead of driving all over checking traps or putting up fur. This year was a much more special trapping season as I had regular dialogue with a couple buddies and we pushed one another in friendly competition. I took my lumps on the K9 line working through new issues with trap prep (I tried F1 dip) and new properties. Once beaver season came around I was all in…my beaver season was highlighted by a 5 day, 4 check Beaverpalooza with Longbeard12 in mid March…. Let me tell you- that’s the most fun I’ve ever had trapping, coincidentally it’s the most work and least amount of sleep I’ve gotten due to trapping…. 32 beavers in 4 checks will keep a couple guys busy, hahaha… I also caught the heaviest beaver of my trapping career, a 65 pounder on public land!!! Seasons like this will push me to work harder and set higher goals for sure!!! Special thank you to my wife and kids for all the love and support and another special thanks to Jake and Gary for being such great friends, and pushing one another to trap harder and try new things!!

Great pictures!!! I boiled traps yesterday, always stuff to do for next season I guess. Would like to hear more about your opinion on trap dipping.

All I will say is that I’ll never do it again! My issue may have been the latex pan cover, but I never had an issue with latex pan covers when I dyed and waxed… tried something new, had sets dug up left and right- ask LB12- we talk daily and he knows how many sets I had dug…. Maybe 20-30??

I know you’ll be there every step of the way!!! Looking forward to it!!!
Great pic!
Some guys have good luck with speed dip products, others don’t. I‘ve used it on rat and coon traps, but was wary about using it for my bigger traps.

I believe it was 54…. There are 2 hanging that a land owner gave LB12 and I when we set his property (he’d just caught them over previous couple days, and one Gary gave my 4 year old back in early January when he went with me to his shop to make a couple dozen drowning rods, that will be getting tanned
