Just a heads up, I was in a Petco the other say, and a big bin of antlers caught my eye. They were tips and bases of Elk antlers, marketed as dog chewing treats. I picked through the mess until I came up with a few that will make great powder measures. Although they were not cheap, they were way cheaper than buying a whole set. They are perfect for any number of primitive crafts, sorry Fido !

Antler pieces can be had pretty reasonably on some of the on-line auctions. Although it is nice to be able to pick and choose.

recently saw some very nice turned pieces of elk antler made into beautiful round boxes. Looked a bit like well aged ivory.

Just remember that the smell and dust from antlers can be pretty nasty for your nose and your health. Wear a dust mask.
