Currently I have shooting Carbon Express Maxima arrows with my 2007 Bowtech Allegiance at 68 pounds. Using also a 100 grain broadhead or field point. I am getting good results, and have good groups out to about 45 yards. My friend currently is shooting the FMJ's and it seems that his groups are tighter. Can anyone give me any feedback on these arrows. I am looking to make a switch.

first year for me shooting FMJ for me they are by far the most durable and accurate arrow on the market

been using these arrows for years now and love them. with that said it's not just the type of arrow you shoot that makes one guy group better than the next. is there something different about his bow, does he have better shooting forum , is his bow better tuned than your's. at 45 yards foc has lot to do with grouping

I shoot carbon express and love them. My guess is it's not the arrows that are causing a tighter group. Just don't want to see you switch when you don't have to. If the bow is tuned right and the shooter is half decent then they should be able to group CX, GT or easton arrows equally as well.

I love my FMJ. Very strong and durable arrow. He might be getting better results because FMJ are a stiffer arrow so there is less flexing during flight.

great arrows...I killed two bull elk and 2 bucks with them...best of both worlds...I like them because they are a bit heavier and seem to penetrate really well..

Arrows are arrows are arrows. Those two particular shafts are very high quality and made to very strict tolerances, and it has nothing to do with the particuar shaft. The shafts you are currently shooting are probably correctly spined for your bow. I dont know what your draw length is, but chances are, you are shooting the right arrow. Two things that could cause the group differences are A.) His bow is better tuned than yours is, or B.) Hes a better shooter. I dont know which of the two, I have never seen either of you shoot or the setups, but chances are it has absolutely nothing to do with the arrow. Unless you plan on hunting some sort of larger game somewhere, stick with what you've got, and keep the speed advantage for whitetails.

True...BUT they can also bend. One of the reasons i switched to carbon was b/c i wanted an arrow that was either straight or broken, never bent.

One thing that I noticed that helped groupings get tighter was switching to the blazer vanes. If you are still using a 4 or 5 inch vane on your arrow try the blazers. They are cheap and make a huge difference.
