My uncle shot his first buck in 1958 and the mount has been his basement ever since. He decided to give it to me so I can remember him when he passes, which will be easy...he taught me everything I know. Anyway the top of the ears seem to be seperating, meaning the front of the ear is seperating from the back. Any idea on how to fix this?

I doubt there is much that can be done. Keep it, as it is. The memory will always be there.

On the other hand if you really wanted to restore it, you could get another cape and re-do the mount. I wouldn't do it, as the memory is in the current mount. It's totally up to you, but the way I see it those are your two options. Hope this helps.

I am not a taxidermist. I wonder if it is possible to inject some epoxy into the "space" with a large diameter hypodermic needle???
