I took a picture of these leaves of the Service Berry tree aka June Berries last evening on a mountain ride. I usually don't see any color until September:

Due to the drought probably. You'll see color on the ridges with little soil very early when it's real dry. Ahh but it hints at Fall before too long!

Saw the same thing last night. Plants start shutting down if there is a lack of rain.
