yup did it today when a buddy came over and started talking to me while i was loading to shoot....heard a weird "TINK" sound but no wack in the bag target ....my boo string was still on my bow, felt the limbs and no snags from any cracks....looked it over real good and made sure nothing was out of place, no loose bolts no damage i could see at all....cocked, loaded an arrow this time and fire it down range, BULLSEYE at 50yds ....i'm glad i had the STS on my bow when this dry fire happened ....i told my buddy if he did the with his quad 400 we would have been diving for cover....sighted his bow in and after he left i shot bout 200 arrows down range from 20 to 50 yds with every shot no more then 2" from POA ....i was using my folding hunting chair and bipod stick as i would be hunting....i shot 5 arrows from 50, 40, 30, 20 each and then went from 20 to 50 with 5 arrows each bout 5 more times in my hunting chair....this beast is ready to slay some deer and a bear this year ..........bob

Hoyt carbon matrix claims it can w/stand like 1500 dry fires. But it also costs something like 1500 dollars. Gook luck.

I thought all makes had anti-dryfire devices now? I have a TenPoint TL-4 that's a few years old and went to a 3D shoot over the summer. At the first target I cocked my bow, and waited for my turn to shoot. I intentionally didn't load the arrow because we were all bunched up. When it came my turn, I stepped up and shot! No bolt! The string only went 1" before the anti-dryfire caught it. I pushed the trigger forward and pulled the string back until it latched. I loaded a bolt and shot. But something was a little off because it shot about 8" high and skipped of the targets back and into the woods. No damage for me except a lost bolt.

No anti dry fire on Excals. Allows the bow to be decocked without firing the arrow.

excalibur brand recurve crossbow company didn't want any anti-dry fire on there crossbows....due to the fact if a dry fire happened when labeled anti-dry fire, it WILL lead to lawsuites to be brought down on them because it should never have happened in the first place, according to the lawer bringing the lawsuite on any company with it on there xbows....excalibur recurve crossbows are so simple you don't need it on them, plus you can use your rope cocker to unload/de-cock them....most compound crossbows need an anti-dry fire on them cause they will most likely self destruct if dry fired....i know i have heard many barrnet quad 400's doing this with a dry fire
