Set my first line yesterday and this morning I had a DP with a small section of coon foot in it. It was mentioned on here before about dog proofs and entanglement and ill be changing my set after this. I had it wired to a root ball along a small gutter and you could see where the coon got all tangled up and managed to get all but two toes out of the trap and hen chewed them off. Ill be cable staking with a heavy Berkshire so they can't wrap around anything. I hate loosing animals like that

Put on pit 35 lbs. shock springs and the problem all but goes away. I kept real accurate records this fall setting traps close to each other, of the 5 pullouts I had they where without shock springs. Can't say u will never ever have another pullout, it really helped me and I set those dp's everwhere.
