Musher's Secret from the wrist down up front and 3" above the pad in the back. Works great, get in between toes on top and bottom. Cheaper than boots, you can't loose them, and a whole lot less annoying for the dog.
A super light coating on the inside of bell walls keeps them clamoring too.
I dip paws In petroleum jelly, supposed to protecf against road chemicals and frostbite.
Also towel dry paws after hunting, while inspecting for thorns ect.
Apply more jelly if badly chapped.
