On a Remington Model 7? I have one and since I'm laid up a bit I was thinking of taking it on. I had a friend who visited yesterday and his locked for no apparent reason. So before that happens I want to change mine out in my model 7. So how does the shroud and firing pin seperate from the shaft? Or should I take it down to my gun guy down the road?

found it on another forum......
for those that never had to change one before like me you pull the claw spring back and just unscrew the shroud. I never had to do this before so forgive me if it sounded like a newbie question. Just ordered a gre tan kit for it. It's a $70 fix and no more "J" lock
