I would love to hear any of your thoughts/comments on this one. No matter what your opinions are, it's something good to read. Happy Friday Everyone!

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that ' s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I ' m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20." Drinks for the ten now cost just $80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men– the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share? They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody ' s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man ' s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. ! And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. "I only got a dollar out of the $20,"declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man," but he got $10!" "Yeah, that ' s right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It ' s unfair that he got ten times more than I!" "That ' s true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!" "Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill! And that, ladies and gentlemen, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

This explains the current situation in this country perfectly. Keep beating them "rich" folks up liberals.

But according to the liberals, forcing the 10th man to pay $69 will bring him back to the bar to "stimulate" the drinking...

And they complain because he goes to the bar across the "line" to do his drinkin'.

And all lived happy lives...except the tenth man whose cut and run antics manifested into a miserable, lonely lifestyle with nothing more to be proud of than a stein of warm beer.

Is there a point here? The first four guys together make in a year much less than the richest guy makes in a week. Ten bucks to him is nothing. Just a joke. Change that just falls out of his pocket. To the four poorest it's significant. When presented with these crapolla stories, you just gotta ask yourself what you would care about 4 percentage points in taxes if you were to make in a week more than you make in a year. Because that is the question. One of them, anyways. And then there is this question you gotta ask yourself: We've been told for decades now that if only we ease the tax burden at the top, the economic pie would grow and jobs would be plentiful. Problem is, that's not true. The Congressional Research Service was just given the job to prove this fallacy and they came back saying that they can't prove it. It's crapolla. It doesn't work, never has, never will. Meanwhile, we're accumulating debt while the shrinking economic pie get divided with the few at the top getting a bigger and the many at the bottom getting a smaller slice. Enough of that. Maybe that's what America really said this past Tuesday, not what the right thinks that people just want free stuff. Wake up! Why feel any pity for the rich? So that we can continue to be their and the banks servants?
And as I have said in other threads, I am in favor of a flat tax.

Why should rich people have to pay more taxes, just because they are wealthy??

Guess what? Somewhere along the line, someone was a pretty successful business man/woman, worked hard, and made that money 100% on their own accord........I guess this country these days, you get penalized for being successful, and working hard.....

Look, I am probably borderline Low/Middle class, and I dont want rich people to have to pay more taxes, just because they have more money......that is ridiculous...

I 100% support flat fair sales tax.........but, people will tell you it will take a larger portion of the poor's money, however how much money do you think that poor family will spend in a year as opposed to the guy with billions of dollars buying whatever he feels like???? Seems to me you would get a lot more of that rich guys money, which is fine, but don't penalize people because they are successful and wealthy....

The whole class warfare thing is right out of the communist handbook and the people of this country prove that such tactics still work.
Bobo goes on tv and says that he's gonna ask the rich to pay a little more, and it sounds harmless enough, right? Well, for those who think that's such a good idea here's a little something to think about, compared to somebody else you're rich.

Yes TR must have been a communist/socialist then, I just read that Glenn Beck disowned him from the GOP. Next up I suppose is Ronald Reagan with his amnesty program, lifeline(Obama phones), his low income housing program, his expansion of the child tax credit and other programs and policies that are now considered socialistic.

That explains why you voted to steal from those who were more skilled and talented than you.
