I think its silly for the IOC to even consider holding the games this year. Sorry Tokyo, great job preparing, but we must wait until 2021 for the good of the world.

We know right now the vaccines will be long in coming. While individual countries may do a good job in slowing it down and virtually eliminate new cases, it is just dumb to bring a global gathering of people together and take a chance at reigniting a bunch of fires.

Who would go? Canada already said nope, and even if countries send athletes, who will go to watch? A lot of athletes cant train so the winners will be the "luckiest" not "the best". It will have an asterisk. So just put an end to the discussion now.

Lets get past this initial wave and stabilize the situation, then start back to normal life, whatever that will look like, before we start holding global events for fun.

Put the resources to be used for the games to other uses.

Holding it would be irresponsible. The U.S. boycotted Olympics for political reasons so if it's not canceled for national security reasons the U.S. should not allow our athlete s to go.

Seems like not all of the members of the IOC agree with Dick Pound's statement. They should get their names and put them in the contest with the dude from the basketball team who had to mockingly touch everyone's phone and microphones for "Something Hole of the Year".

At least the NBA guy apologized that he didn;t take it seriously. The IOC? With thousands dying worldwide? We're going to send people from ALL AROUND THE WORLD to an island nation that is packed with people like Japan, to what? Run fast and jump high and all that?

USA is not pulling out proactively to show a little respect to Japan. They (Japan) should just come out and say, yo, Holmes, yinz all ain't comin' into our country in three months, and yinz fans ain't either. But the USA is not going to send people to Asia in three months. Let's hope we are back to some sense of normalcy by then. But don't take risks to get it all fired back up.

At least Covid-19 does not have a fecal/digestive path to infection. The world's best proctologists can help the IOC extract their heads from those places proctologists know best.
