I set up in my regular ridgetop location this morning. Same old story, multiple birds gobbling on the roost. Silence within minutes of hitting the ground. The one group of birds actually did gobble for about 20 minutes after flydown, but they worked away from me. It's good to know that there are birds still around, just frustrating not to be able to have any work at all.
Hunted till 1. Think I lost 10lbs worth of sweat. Not real hot but so humid
Saw 10 deer, 2 pheasants, 5 hens and 3 longbeards.
The gobblers came right up along the brush line I was in watching a field. Not much cover so got busted at 10 yards when I caught movement. Not sure why they didn't walk straight out to the tilled field. They never gobbled at all.
May have heard 2-3 more gobbling later in the morning but was so windy hard to tell
