Took a nice doe at 9am. First spot didn’t produce a sighting. So I did some still huntin. Between the squirrels running everywhere and light wind in my face, I peeked over knoll that led to a crab apple thicket and there she was bedded at 60 yards. Facing away. Never knew I was there The CVA hit its mark.
Took my oldest (6yo) out for a walk after lunch. Lots of sign, but no deer. Took him back home and raced out to a stand around 430. Had a doe work from my far right to my far left then circle back around to my right again. Missed her clean shooting a hard right angle. A buck wandered onto the scene shortly after the smoke cleared like nothing had happened. Not a bad day overall.
