I am in the market for a new pair of early season boots. Looking for something fairly light weight with between 400 and 600 grams of insulation.

While looking at our local boot store, I came across the Danner Powderhorn. It appears well made, has a full leather upper, and fits well. I am looking for some feedback on them before I drop the $200 on them.

Also, if anyone has any other suggestions, please throw them out there. Planning to make a trip to cabelas in the near future.

So, after spending money on them, I believe them to be the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Very well made. They are also re-craftable, meaning they can pretty much be re-built when they begin to wear.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for a early to mid season boot!

Cant go wrong with Danner! Running in several pair of Pronghorns. Customer service is top notch. Had a pair that began to 'squeak' each time I would take a step. Wasn't very loud, but annoying as anything. Boots were 5-7 years old. Exchanged for brand new pair, no questions...
