Saw this guy while out and about today. Only had the cell phone, but this buck gave me a fair photo opp. He sure had a bunch of girls with him. I am conservatively guessing 25" wide. Washington State buck. [img:left]

No late season for modern rifle mule deer hunters. Modern rifle mule deer runs for two weekends with a week in between. WA makes you pick a weapon, and you are stuck with the hunting method you choose. Archery and black powder hunters have early and late seasons, but are restricted on the game management units that are open to hunt. All seasons are closed now, except a few special permit holders. That buck will be a masher next year, he didn't look all that old.
