We took advantage of no school, a gorgeous day and the mentored youth program this morning. After two years of utter frustration, the Wee Man went 4 for 5 on bushy tails. Each shot was perfect through the rib cage. No meat wasted and a quick, clean kill. Squirrel #3' his biggest, was a 30 yard shot. The little Savage .22 did its thing. The scope on the rifle is off of my grandfather's deer rifle. Wee Man said Pap was in his ear, talking him through the shots. He also belted out, Dad, I'm on fire! I'm the new American sniper!" So proud of the young man he's becoming.

I have been fortunate enough to hunt all over the US, Canada, and even a couple safaris in Africa. To this day my greatest memory hunting is with my dad for my first gray. I can still smell the Hoppes. GOD bless and good huntin' to both of you.

Your post brings back some wonderful memories. Thank you!
