Coyotes during rifle deer

Just want confirmation as I couldn't find what I want I wanted in the digest.

To hunt coyotes during our regular firearms deer season without a furbearers license, a hunter needs to have in his possession a valid, unused antlered tag? If that correct? If correct, what about used antlered but still a valid unused antler less tag?

I was having a discussion with a fella during deer season and wanted to know for sure.

Thanks.

I think any deer tag is fine
Unused, I believe?
book says "while lawfully hunting big game" if you don't have furtakers, so yes I'd say you have to have an used tag.

That is how I see it but the tag has to be unused. One could not hunt for coyotes without a furbearers with a used deer tag.
that's my impression Gene

I think its unused antlered tag.

For some reason I thought that was the deal as well. Had to be unused antlered but the digest now just says "while lawfully hunting big game" so I would take it mean, unused buck or doe would be ok.
I have no idea why all these guys speculate when they are just guessing.

If you are coyote hunting during general firearms deer season legal hours you need a valid unused tag for that season or a furtakers license.

If it is 1st week buck only you need an unused buck tag or if is the combined season you would need either a buck tag or an antlerless tag.

I eliminated that problem with my combination lifetime license.
When i was in Colorado i asked about that if i would tag out on elk could i get a small agme lic. for yotes since i seen a pack of 7 at one time. You could but you only could use up to a 23 caliber which i never heard of. There reason so you wouldnt be there with a 300 rum being temped to shoot another elk.
