what are the preferred calls this time of the year?
i have a fox pro and have been trying and trying with no luck
the other night i tried the coyote locator and with no luck but then i hit the single male coyote howl call and they opened up big time across the valley from me so i went to the adult cottontail for about 15 minutes and no luck.
was that to much?
next question is do you keep the red spot light on the whole time or just scan every so often
thanks for any help

Scan constantly, and 15 minutes isn't long enough in my opinion. I like to stay on stand at least 30 to 45 minutes. As far as calls, they all work. Don't get hung up on one certain call.

Last weekend a coyote responded after I called a set. I sat about 50 minutes. It was mixed bag of coyote vocalizations and distress calls. While walking to next set, I got about 3 howls. Sat up immediately, went to female coyote whimper and within 7 minutes had eyes at 100 yards. Umm, don't ask what happened next. Ha ha.
