Boonville NY has always been a sort of crossroads in the Adirondacks and still is.
Unfortunately, a lot of it's history has been lost to that thing we call progress.
Fortunately, there are people who take an active interest in history, and those people became the driving force a few years ago when the decision was made to recreate the covered bridge. A Foundation was formed and enough donations towards the covered bridge were accepted to cover the cost of the materials. Another sort of donation was the labor provided by builders, retirees, and everyday folks who just wanted to help. When all was said and done, everybody in the community played some part and made this a success.
