A ruling in Commonwealth Court upholds the PA Game Commission’s decision to revoke a man’s hunting license for 20 years.

Michael Kelly was sentenced in 2011 to at least four years in prison for shooting a turkey hunter in Montour County. The game commission later revoked his hunting license.

Kelly admitted firing a shot that hit Jeff Blue of Danville.

Police said Kelly never called for help because he knew he wasn’t supposed to have a gun since he was a convicted felon.

Could that charge be through another court due to the previous charge? Or because of the charge?

Unlikely he is not being prosecuted for it.

He got 4 years for shooting the hunter, not for illegal possession of a firearm?
He pled guilty to aggravated assault AND illegal possession of a firearm (in a plea agreement with the prosecution).

He got 4-8 for a plea agreement. As with many large cases Game Law gets NP for a guilty plea for the Felony

Another perfect example of a felon ignoring laws that are already in place. Can passing more laws solve the problem?

I think NOT!

and...once again a gun crime gets plea bargained down.

also right on him hunting with out a license, he wasnt suppose to have the gun and he did, a license wont stop him.

Don't quite know what you mean by all of this.

thge guy that shot the hunter wasnt allowed to own the gun since he is a convicted felon (gun crime)

they revoked his hunting license because of this and sentenced him to 4 years (plea bargain)

he hunted even though he wasnt allowed to have the gun so my bet is that when he gets out he will hunt without a license (poach) as rules dont mean a thing to him.
