So I need to upgrade my worn out hi rubber boots with thinsulate insulation. Kamik has some nice boots but they use 5, 7 or 9mm neoprene insulation. I can't find any comparison values on line. Can anyone give me an idea what thinsulate weight equals a neoprene thickness? Since 9mm is the thickest I can find I assume it may be like a 1200-2000 thinsulate? Would hate to be my own Guinea pig in zero degree weather.

Not sure what it translates to. Owned a pair of kamiks about 7 years ago for work. Kept my feet warm while running an open cab dozer in the dead of winter in sybricuse aka Syracuse. I was impressed with the boots even with the composite toe. A lot of the oversight guys and girls I worked with swore by kamiks.

I got a pair of hi top 9mm neoprene Kamiks for Christmas. A size larger than normal and I can get 2 pairs of thick wool socks and not cramp my feet. I will test them the next few weeks during late season. Keeping a few foot warmers in my pack just in case.
