Awsum little budgey...used to see a fair amount of those when I was a kid..Haven't seen one for 25 yrs..Also used to see Indigo Buntings, Meadow Larks, Pheasants, Owls, Night Hawks, Whip-poor-wills, Eastern Towhees...the list goes on..Where did they all go ??
Don't have to look hard to find Starlings, Grackles, English Sparrows, House & Purple Finches & Crows.. :(

Many of these can still be found, the wild Pheasants may actually be the hardest on that list to find. Whips and Towhees are making a come back, partly due to the habitat getting better for them. Check out the evening sky in a few weeks and you are likely to see migrating Nighthawks before dark.
