I have a lot of base layers too - some fleece and some thermax. I am able to hunt for pretty long periods (stand hunting) but am just uncomfortable a lot of the time. You are right that base layers can make a big difference. For me, though, long periods of inactivity in the cold make me uncomfortable no matter what I have worn. Stalking, driving and small game hunting are no problem though.Swift said:Springer Rage said:I have a lot of hunting gear and I still get cold when the temps are below about 30.
Then you need to find base layers that work better for your hunting style.
