Hello,
I have a 40x40 clover plot. I have old growth and new growth. I was wondering when I should mow the old growth down as it's at least 10" if not longer? When I do mow it what height should I mow it to?
Thanks

I would mow your clover now. Mowing clover encourages it to grow and is much more attractive to wildlife when new growth is coming in. Mowing is also good for keeping weeds in check. A good height to mow clover down to would be 6 inches. I mow mine down to 5 because that is highest setting on my pull behind mower and have no problems.

A good rule of thumb is to never mow more then a 1/3 of the height. Do it during cool weather and a chance of rain. That will help it bounce back. But don't get to overly concerned about some weeds, deer eat those too.
