I had a 22 rifle I kept at my school bus stop ( a store owners garage) I also kept a change of cloths. Before school I would check my water sets on the flats and change at the bus stop drop my backpack of rats/mink and pick up my pack of books. After school I would again change and take the rifle to check land sets and hunt along the way.
When I started driving there always was a gun or 2 in the trunk at school. And with prior permission I brought my shotgun to school and demonstrated how to clean it for speech class. Only got a A- on the demonstration because the teacher said I left too much oil in the chamber. Sometimes old jarheads are a pain.
Same teacher was the coach of the rifle team and he did nit pick on clean rifles. Like someone said if we had an away meet for rifle our soft cased rifles were handed out before last period and we kept them in whatever class we had last period. Waugh!
