I got a phone call from a friend Monday morning asking if I could come and take a photo of a bear cub next to her house in Pike County. Imagine my surprise when I see that the cub is a cinnamon! The bad news is that it appeared to be all alone. I had heard of a black sow with 3 cubs (2 cinnamon and 1 black) had been sighted in the general area over the course of the previous month, but were not to be seen while I was busy taking photos. Hopefully, mom and cub with be reunited. The game commission is aware of the situation. I kept a respectable distance and shot these photos with a 100-400 zoom lens. I did use a fill flash which did not bother the cub in the least. Probably a once in a lifetime opportunity. Hope you enjoy!
