Shooting an Remington 1187 3" model with a 28 inch barrel. Went with the nitro 4x5x7's and the rhino .670 constriction choke tube. The guys at nitro suggested I go with the .670 over the .660 stating that the .670 constriction would be best for the longer barrel. My question is why ? Anyone else use this setup?

hevishot likes a little more less restriction than lead shot as it is harder than lead...

that combo should be devastating...

i believe my undertaker hevi shot tube is .675...it even patterns lead shot better than my extended rem tube that was tighter...

them guys at nitro know a thing or 2 about shotgun patterns...

A standard 12ga bore is supposed to be .729 in diameter. Problem is each manufacturer has their own idea of "standard". Whatever the Remingtons mic out at, Nitro has probably found that .670 is the ideal diameter choke for that set up. Another brand will probably get a tighter or looser recommendation.
