I found some burs under a chestnut from last Fall. Tree is in good shape. If I plant them, will they grow? They look a Little shriveled up. I was thinking about trying to start them in paper cups wit garden soil. I don't know how they survied winter and the squirrels.

there were a lot of nuts "deaf" nuts last year. "shrivieled up" is not a viable nut. Good nuts can be planted in the fall or early spring and grown. If potted and you don't want to have to transplant best to start with 1 gallon or larger pot.
