I'm planning on heading down to the bay for Divers Jan 4th and 5th. How's it looking and what do you predict for those dates?

Dude your asking a bunch of guys from PA how the water is in MD and to make a prediction of how your hunt is gonna go
make sure you have a maryland resident with you. Alot of the waters require a md resident to be part of the hunting party. just fyi
There's a ton of guys from PA that travel down that way and there's also a ton of guys from MD on this forum. I figured one of them could potentially have some insight.
I think the resident rule applies if your hunting out of a boat but if you motor to a blind you don't need one. I am not sure about that though
I think with the push of birds the last few days, it should be fairly decent.
Just got back today from 2 days hunting puddle ducks, but we did see and hear about solid diver hunting. There are canvasbacks, blackheads, and buffle heads in good numbers right now.
maybe hes going with a guide?
For sure . Always run into Pa guys when we are hunting the bay.

just didnt want to see anyones trip ruined by a goofy rule
should be good, hearing about lots of blackheads and buffies. Cans around, not settled in yet, but maybe by then. Need ice for "great" can hunting, and it's not there yet.
You'll likely crush em'... I just got back from hunting the Pax river in Md... My buddy who i was hunting with hit the bay a few times and hammered the scoters and old sqaw.. alot of black heads ( bluebills) are hanging out in huge flocks in tight to the shore, but good chance you'll get some shooting at them too. Good luck and let us know how you do!
