Pick your gun to stop a charging Grizzly.
The number of shots are how many bullets you have.

If the first 3 did not convince the bear to stop the 4th round would be for myself. Rather that than being eaten alive.
In 2011, between a visit to Yellowstone and a grizzly hunt in AK, I saw 14 of them, including the one I got. After seeing them in action firsthand, I cannot even imagine being actually charged by one. I mean an all out for real charge, not a bluff. I selected bolt action .458 Mag. But if they were bent on getting you, I am not certain even that would do it.

HaHaHa I hear that
This happened to my brother & I in the Arctic of Alaska. We had two pro hunters in .30-06 and a 44mag pistol. Thank GOD we didn't have to pull the trigger.

Sorry for the poor picture quality. I was a little nervous. She closed to 30 yards and caught our wind. She then high tailed it out of there with her cub!

I chose the most powerful weapon ever built (at least according to Joe the clown Biden), the AR15

I picked the .270 because it is the gun I most comfortable with.
Push down your fattest friend!
Why didnt we have the option of the full 30rd clip for our AR15? What are we in New York central park hunting grizzlies with Micheal Bloomberg ?

ditto, iv'e been pretty close to a few of them, and it always makes me think nothing would make me feel really safe. inadequate is the only word i can think of when i'm near them.
I saw one griz in AK after I harvested mine. It was feeding up a little draw. Munching blueberries mostly. All of a sudden it heard something and whirled around to look behind it. Went on a short run and started going nuts flipping rocks up out of the ground. Really AGGRESSIVELY tearing things up. All of a sudden it chomps down on a marmot or ground squirrel, whatever it was, tossed it up in the air and then caught it again. Took one massive bite and swallowed it. Pretty awesome thing to see. Went over to a small stream and took a drink and then went about it's business feeding on blueberries again. I doubt I will ever forget that sight.
Give me a can of bear spray. Would rather put up a cloud of bear spray that will stop the bear then take the chance that I can hit a charging bear where it counts with a couple shots from a gun, under extreme pressure.
What a bunch of wimps. You didn't see that Alan Treadwell guy carrying around pepper spray or packin heat did you?All he needed was a big hug.
Hahaha and did you ever see what ended up happening to that Mr. Treadwell guy?
handguns and shotguns just make them madder..A 45/70 to the snout always stops them.
I took this picture the summer before last in Yellowstone Park with my small Pentax point and shoot camera. These 2 sub-adult siblings were closing the distance between my friend and me, and they were about 30' from us when I took this picture. That's when I figured it was time for us to move on.

That same evening, these 2 bears entered Norris campground and chewed on someone's tent and Coleman stove. The Park Service then decided these bears had "crossed the line" so they were captured and transported to the Billings Zoo.

Lest you might think that we were foolish tourists, I should add that I was sitting inside my Jeep, and took this picture out the window, with the engine running and the the transmission in gear! These bears were more interested in digging for grubs than chasing after Jeep Wranglers.
