I just picked up a couple bare root pear trees that had been stored in doors for a few days. I may not be able to plant these for a few weeks. How should I care for these until planting time?

When they did reclamation work on mine sites, black locust, red pine, and Norwegian spruce were planted bare root. The folks planting them treated them with root gel dip. It absorbs moisture and will keep roots moist during dry spells. One pound will treat thousands of trees. It’s a fine powder, and when mixed with water, turns into a snotty mix resembling frog eggs.
