People are getting hacked and scammers are using their accounts(with 100% positive feedback) to sell trail cams very cheap. I saw two separate accounts with the same cams. We ordered 21 cams last night and the money was taken from our banks. Ebay said they wouldn't open a case. PayPal reversed the transactions for all 4 of us and said the money will be back to our accounts in two days. At the time we bought, it said there were 5 cams sold in last 24 hours. By the time our purchases were complete, 135 cams had sold. Just FYI

How did you know it was a scam under 24hrs? I'm always suspect when someone is selling something new at deep deep discounts. Often wonder if the products were stolen or hacked accounts. Ebay isn't as good as it used to be 10+ years ago but good deals can still be found.

Knock on wood, have only been scammed once in 15 years using the service and that was at least 10 years ago now. I don't use it nearly as much as I used to though.

eBay sent an email overnight the same night as the purchase saying it was a compromised account and the transaction had been cancelled. Perhaps they have some algorithm looking for high volume purchases?

That's the first I've been duped. I did pause before hitting the buy button. No pain no harm and a learning experience. You know what they say.... If it looks to good to be true it probably is.

Haha I hear ya.

Though I didn't like the whole ebay/paypal relationship, the benifit of having buyer protection through PayPal is a awesome feature which you are living proof. I think when I got scammed I only received a portion of my lost funds where now I think it's backed 100%. Still doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful.

I started with ebay in 1999. Back then it was more of a buyers market, for the last 10 yrs it much more a sellers. I've made many purchase and sold items. Only got shafted once and paypal fixed it same day. Anymore I only use paypal.
