Anyone watch this game the other night? With the Caps down by a goal, Boudreau pulled his goalie but left his best player (Ovechkin) on the bench. Luckily (for Washington) they tied it any way. Then the OT started, still no Oveckin! He finally did get out late in the OT when Washington did score to win the game, which told me, he wasn't hurt..

What kind of bonehead doesn't put his best player, and one of the top five best in the league, on the ice when he needs a goal to tie, or in the OT??? Boudreau got TOTALLY lucky that they tied the game and then won without Ovechkin. If they had lost, he'd really have a lot to explain today.

Dont get me wrong. I hate Ovechkin like all good Americans, but still, he should have been out there.

I heard it was because he was sluggish on the PP kill earlier in the game. Benched him to make a point. Stiil got hte winning assist so maybe ovi made HIS point loud and clear.

But he wasn't out there when it mattered most. As a coach, Boudreau made a big mistake there. He got lucky that they tied the game.

To top it off, the ever classy Ovechkin called his coach a fat (expletive) when he told him he wasn't going in. The line he did put in were the hot hand that night so it was an okay move and he guessed right that time.

After getting bounced early in the playoffs the last two years fat boy is on a short leash. If your best player wants to coast fine coast on the bench.
I don't see a problem here.

Totally agree. If Alex wants to cherry pick and not work hard on defense then he needs to learn a lesson. Hockey is a two way game and to be elite you have to learn how to at LEAST make an effort on D.

If fat boy and Oveckin get into some type of urinating contest, you do you think is gonna get the boot?
