Taken in Ontario, Canada 100 Miles North of Watertown, New York.

It looks like a painted bunting. I don't know if they are present in Canada or not.
I'll try to google it.

That is what we thought at first, but this bird is about the size of a Robin and the head on a painted bunting is blue. Thanks Whip

Looks like an escaped exotic - and is probably a Varied Bunting, common in South America and now becoming popular as a pet.

Anything is possible, I guess... It could be molting and we just haven't found the right species? Thanks Whip
