Back in the mid 90's and earlier there was a no closed season on California Valley quail in Washington, Allegheny and Beaver counties. Does anyone know the story behind this? Was there a breeding population?
No there was no breeding that was a pet project from one of the commissioner;s at that time. It was a unqualified flop just as most of us predicted. I can"t remember if they traded or somehow got the birds, I believe that they stocked two years anyhow it never worked.
