This is my first really big buck worthy of a wall mount. Got this big 8 point Saturday morning with a Parker crossbow and Rage 2 blade at 9:15 on our property upstate in Bradford County. Borrowed neighbors 4 wheel atv to drag him close to 1/2 mile. Weather was crappy rain, sleet snow on thurs and fri and saw only some does and a buddy saw a broken 1/2 rack buck with gore wounds on his neck. Cold nice weather on on sat morning ,35 degrees. Sitting on ground next to old stacked stone wall hunting deer and turkey with a new gas pipeline clearcut to my right with clover planted. Buck comes in from woods on other side of clearcut after I spent 5 minutes grunting, rattle and doe bleating. I did not see him due to poor hearing and wind until he was 15 -20 feet from me behind me. Rock wall concealed most of me. He was huffing, drooling ,looking for a fight. Turned my head a bit and he was giving me the stink eye. My heart just about exploded and had to close my eyes and refocus on mechanics of getting the shot off. He walked in front about 15 yards and quartered away from me . Got him in the liver to opposite shoulder. Ran about 40 yards and dropped. Last buck I got was in 2008 so this was overdue. Rough score 140 inches gross, 135 net. Pope and Young for sure. Now I got to figure out how much money it's going to cost me to get him mounted for the wall.

4 of us went to camp and got 8 pheasants, 1 grouse , 1 deer and no turkeys and a bunch of mice in the snap traps in the camper. Very good weekend for all

Don't you just love B-county? Beautiful buck.
Is that a Raven wear hat? I have one that keeps my
big head warm, real nice.

yea , that's a Raven Wear hat. Got it at a sportsmans show a few years back and very warm, repels water well too. They only had an XL and I need a 2XL. A bit snug as fleece don't stretch much. One of these days I will order the 2XL.
Appreciate the positive comments, waited a long time for a deer of this caliber.

I ordered mine at the show. The lady measured my coconut
and made one extra big. Love it.
Again, beautiful buck!

Congrats that will be hard to top
Gonna be hard to top for sure. This buck was one of 2 our camp targeted. other guy is wider, taller tines. We have 2 years of lots of pics of him during the year day and night. This year only 2 pics at night. I think my buck ran him off.
years ago a friend got his first buck in Montgomery county, a 17 pointer! Has never came close since. How do you top a 17 point as your first buck? He hunts mainly for meat anyway so he shoots does
