It is a bunch of fun though. I've shot hundreds of carp and catfish into the wee hours.

cant really see a need for one since your shooting into the water at less than 10 yards. if i get the transom in this darn boat fixed i'm gonna be shooting gar in NC!

Bowfishing is regulated under PA Fish & Boat regulations, not PA Game Commission. Nothing in PA F&B regs regarding safety zones.

Bowfishing is exactly what it says...fishing, therefore it falls under PFBC laws and regulations. There is no safety zone for fishing

Thanks guys, I guess the fact the arrow is tied to the bow with 50ft of line kinda makes it less fool proof then reg hunting gear. Iv only been out once so far on thursday, shot at a carp missed.... water was reall muddy from all the rain cant wait to try agian. I dont know why we cant shoot gar, there are more of them in the ohio river than about anything eles in the summer, oh well.

It may be angling but it still has some special regs as far as where you can do it. I know you can't bowfish in hills creek state park because you are not allowed to discharge a weapon there.
