I live in the lehigh valley, and am in the market for a new Z7. I have talked to 3 shops that all have them for different prices. I am ok with all 3 prices, but I want to know from others experiences which of the 3 will do the best job setting up my bow, or which of the 3 shops I should avoid. The 3 shops are Peak Performance Archery in Whitehall, Buck's Sporting Goods in Lehighton, and Gary's Bow Shack in Saylorsburg. Any info on these shops would be great.

Thanks
Chris

I have my bow being restringed at Bucks.Don't know anything about the other places.Besides a peep sight and string, I mount everything else myself.Review the different sights and rests ect.., and just screw them on yourself; not a big deal.
Never had a problem with Bucks, but they are a little expensive. They are local to me so I like to support them to keep them around.Better get that bow soon at Bucks before I take it,lol.I've been looking hard at it, and it feels sweet, but I hate to throw down $800 on a bow.I'll just wait a couple years and pick up a used one probably

Every bow that leaves his shop is set up the same. Daves shooting style. I know a few guys that get there stuff from him they think it is awesome that they just call him and say what they want and he calls when it is all setup. The go and shoot it and if it doesn't fit right or shoot right Dave tells them what every guy wants to here. "Change your style to the way i shoot or go somewhere else". Yep sounds like a great guy to me.

I am new to this forum. After reading some of the post here about the bownazi,I thought you guys might like to read some post from other forums. I have been going to the bownazi for many years. He has always treated me well and I have shot many deer with his setups.I see that there are 2 guys here that do not like him. That seems like a very small % compaired to the amount of customers he has. It is very easy for guys to bash someone without giving any reason. I decided to do a search on other forums.

This one is spur on Archery talk.Spur talks on here like he knows everything and bownazi is a tool.

The rest of these are about Bownazi. sort of makes me wonder who the real tool is. happy reading

Sounds like a few people have an ax to grind here. It is easy to talk crap about someone on here. Dave has done great by me and my daughters. As for teaching people how to shoot, I went in with my mind open, If I shoot better coming out why not try it. What is so hard or wrong about that.
Keep up the good work Dave.

Same here, It's no wonder that dealers won't give prices out over the phone anymore. I think they get tired of running to the phone so that they can make the walmart shoppers happy. Dave sells the Z7 for 799.00. This guy drove 100 extra miles to save 30 dollars and then he has to go on archery talk to try to find out how to make his arrows fly straight.; Mine shoots darts and I only drove 10 mi.

X2blazer a.k.a. Andrew, thanks for finding that post. My arrows were cut at 28" and according to the website, I should've been fine. But they were fishtailing and Erik from AT ran the numbers and said they should be fine, but for perfect spine, they should be chopped to 27.25". I did and now I am shooting darts, look at my 84 yard shots.

ErikBarnes from At is THE MAN. If I needed anything, I would ship my bow to Erik before I ever went to the bownazi again. But in most cases I can fix my bow better than Andrews anyway. Woody's has a great price on equipment and knows his stuff.

That comment about driving 100 miles? I drove 28 miles. Woa, I'm glad I can tell distance.

I live close to bucks,I don't really go there much to have an opinion of the place.I bought bows from peak performance, having major problems there,I don't want to discuss on here, anyone can pm me if they want more details ,I'm done with them.drove to archery at the Glenn in Allentown twice, both times there was a guy there that knew nothing about bows, just a body behind the register selling bait.

Seriously Dave, if somebody has talent, a good archer can consistently shoot well as long as the bow is set up half-way decent. Peak, Archery At The Glenn, Woody's, heck even I could've if I had a press, but would've been way too young.

As for the vanes he was using for the high wind, great move on his part. When I was younger I always wondered why the vanes were so large, but I guess they had to be because we were shooting aluminum and they were always bent.

Seriously I'm not Dave but If what you say were true, Name the other dealers shooters that did it in the last 15yrs.
You seem to like the vanes he used. Dave cut them for him by hand and at that time he was the only one in the world that had them. I saw Jedd at dave's shop last week getting his new triumph setup. He drove up from DC and he still had the hand cut vanes on his arrows. Jedd said they were on them for about 7yrs.

Bownazi must be really good or lucky at finding talent.
John Greshock this year won Lancaster,Vegas, and second at nationals. He was shooting Dave's setup ya know the one that everyone will tell you can't be done. Shooting fingers with a launcher rest and Blazer vanes. Ya know the vanes that he invented about 20 yrs ago and is still the most used vane in the world. The guy just keeps getting lucky and I know just about anyone could do it ,but they didn't he did. Twice.

Found this thread on the Mathews forum today.
It was a reply posted by the Bownazi, owner of (Andrews Archery)

Now I know that Spur doesn't need this information because he said you only need a bow half-way set up to shoot good. You will also need a good bow press. Oops, he doesn't have one of them either.

So if you don't know everything or you don't have a bow press, you might want to find a dealer that knows what he is doing.

Still maybe this info might be usefull to some of you with your bow or if you are looking to buy a bow. The guy from Florida that asked the question seemed to like the answer.
Just click on the link & read the thread

Bownazi, helps guy from the UK straighten out his bow just by looking at a picture of it.

Hay Spur are you feeling bad yet for bashing bownazi on this forum. you are acting like a woman scorn. When do you plan on telling everyone what really happened and how all your friends and your friends, friends all buy their bows up there and are very happy. I emailed bownazi the pictures of you and your fish. he told me he knows you and is going to give me a call with the full details of why he won't work on your bows.
