I took the boys out with my Dad and two close friends for the youth/senior hunt. My one son had his first shot with his bow at a perfect first time buck, but a sapling stopped that! I was sad, but he handled it very well and went right back to hunting. That made me just as proud as if he would have got that deer.

I finally met my neighbor who has a small camp in the wooded area behind mine. What a great guy. He invited me in and we chatted for a while. He gave me permission to hunt the 15 acres he owns, which is great, because I also have permission to hunt 20 acres next to that. We saw some deer and fresh scrapes, flushed a grouse and saw and heard tons of squirrels. I'm chomping at the bit to get back up! I'll be back up Sunday to visit a farmer friend.

Anyone else or their youngins do any good?
