After years and years of leasing land, co-owning with uninterested family, constant major maintenance, begging the land owners to sell.....it's official! One acre of Bluejay Creek valley that my family camp has sat on since 1951 is ours! We had a crew up this past weekend to clean out what we wanted, dropped four trees and prepped for the new camp. We sat on the ole porch Saturday night sharing beers and stories of all the good times. Dad went back up today to oversee the demo we hired an excavator to perform. I felt a cold chill out of the north, all the way in Pittsburgh around 1pm as the cabin went down. New construction starts on the 29th of this month. If anyone has questions about buying land and building new in Howe Twp.....dont ask!!!! Lol. We were inches away from selling just before trout season when the land owners answered our last request. Days later, our uninterested family members agreed to drop out as well. It really is a true story of never giving
