I have been out of the waterfowl game for awhile now, but just received an invite to hunt early season geese this year. I have some Bismuth 3 inch 4 shot left over from my previous waterfowl hunting and was wondering if they would be an acceptable load for geese? I know Bismuth is very close to lead so I'm thinking the smaller shot size shouldn't be an issue. Should I use them or buy a box of BB or BBB steel?

Buy a box of BB. If you eat geese, with #4 you will have way too many pellets in the bird, assuming you are a good shot. With BB's you can use a tight choke and take out a wing or a head and preserve the breast.
